There are a few luxury cases for the Apple iPod, and there's a new one from high street retailer Ted Baker.
Ted Baker has come a long way from its signature shirts, through mens, womens and kidswear to glasses, shoes and fragrances. Its accessory line doesn't just include wallets and watches but protection for every fashion-conscious iPod owner.
The Ted Baker Leather Case (Apple 2G iPod classic 80GB/120GB Series), made by case specialist Proporta, is stylish and distinctive - available in three colours: Black and Cranberry, Oxblood and Navy, and Black and Teal.
Both the 80GB and 120GB iPod classic are a snug but not-too-tight fit, and the leather offers good protection from scratches, bumps and knocks.
The patterned leather is pretty unisex, and the colours rather lush and decadent. There are the usual cut-outs for iPod cable, headphones and Hold slider. Plus there's two interior slip pockets for cash, credit cards or travel cards.
My one problem with the case is the Ted Baker button on the front of the case, which prompts one to push it to close the case. The actual poppers are situated on the sides rather than the centre, so its more visual than practical. It's not a big deal, just slightly peculiar.
A belt clip option would have been nice, too - although I'm getting used to it sitting in my jacket pocket on these cold days out.
There’s something rather eighteenth century about this classy iPod classic case, and it should find a willing market in the dandy iPod owner.
