Alfie Deyes has over 12 million subscribers across his YouTube empire, best-selling books and an immeasurable amount of hardcore fans.  

"I started creating YouTube videos nine years ago just out of my bedroom, you know, balancing the camera on a stack of books," reminisced Deyes in an interview with Techworld at Web Summit in Lisbon.

"Back then YouTube was nobody's job. It wasn’t a career path, it was just something that I loved watching and thought I’d get involved with.

"Fast forward quite a few years and I’m doing things that I never thought I’d be doing," he says.
