Engineers from Fujitsu and Red Hat have begun working together at a Red Hat office in Boston to strengthen the capabilities of Linux for large corporations as part of a global Linux partnership between the two companies.
The Joint Development Organization will serve as a base for the two companies to share technology and develop enhancements to the Linux operating system that meet the needs of enterprise customers and strengthen customer support efforts, Fujitsu said. The newly-formed organisation extends a partnership set up in May between Red Hat and Fujitsu to collaborate on Linux development and marketing efforts, it said.
In addition to the establishment of the Joint Development Organization, Fujitsu announced that Fujitsu Siemens Computers (Holding) would begin selling Red Hat products and provide support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux customers in Europe.
