Intel's annual Intel Developer Forum (IDF) spring conference will be held in China, not the US, the chip giant has announced.
IDF is a series of conferences held twice a year where Intel's top execs made significant product announcements and outline the company's future direction. In previous years, both fora have been held in San Francisco.
Recently, Intel has started off the IDF in San Francisco and then hosted smaller conferences in cities around the world, including Tokyo, Bangalore, Seoul and Prague. That practice will apparently end next year when Intel will hold a single Spring IDF event in Beijing. Dates for the conference were not immediately available.
While Intel does not plan to hold a Spring IDF conference in the US next year, the autumn conference will still be held in San Francisco. But that conference will be followed by a Fall IDF conference in Taipei, which is home to many of the world's largest computer hardware makers.
