High-flying British start-ups looking to cross the Atlantic and tap into the US market could get a helping hand from Virgin Media Business under a new competition.
The telecoms provider is inviting digital and tech start-ups to enter the "Expand your British Business to NYC" competition, which is being organised by Virgin Media Pioneers — the online forum and community for entrepreneurs.
Successful companies will be flown to New York for a week at the start of November, where they will be required to deliver a one minute 'elevator pitch' to some of New York's leading investors.
While in the US, the companies will also meet with British businesses who’ve already made the move across the pond, go on a tour of work spaces, and attend a networking night.
The chosen companies will be invited to London on October 28 to meet with experts in US law, taxation, accountancy, visas and learn how to pitch to US investors.
Unfortunately, the competition closes on Monday 14 at 5pm so start-ups that are interested will have to move fast. More information on how to apply can be found here.
