In its new incarnation as 'The Techies' to champion the changing nature of the UK technology sector, a cross-section of the UK technology supplier and user community gathered at London's ME Hotel at the event previously known as the Techworld Awards dating back to 2005. Before that it was the IDG Network Awards and Networking Industry Awards, dating back to the early 1990s.
With more than 100 entries across product, project and organisation categories recognising each corner of the UK technology industry, the 20 awards winners announced pushed the boundaries in everything from artificial intelligence and security, to mobile apps, public sector projects and startup incubators.
Techworld editor Charlotte Jee said: "The Techies is all about us celebrating the success of the community we support.
"We cover startups, innovation, developers, emerging tech and its impact on business so it was wonderful to see first hand the incredible innovation on both the customer and technology vendor side. It was a privilege to receive entries from so many organisations and welcome more than 100 inspirational technology movers and shakers to what was a great celebration. We can't wait to make The Techies even bigger and better for 2017."
