The UK company behind a mobile dating app is offering to give developers £1,000 for passing the interview process - even if they decide not to take the job.

Hot or Not, due to relaunch later this year on iPhone with a brand new design, is aiming to recruit talented iOS developers with at least 18 months experience and the ability to build unique new features for its app.

“As an incentive, we’ll give you £1,000 for passing our interview process, whether you accept the job or not,” the London-based start-up wrote on its website.

In order to be considered for the role, developers should have an understanding of UIKit, core animation, GCD and networking; design patterns and object oriented programming; and analytics, remote reporting and measurements.

A full list of what is expected is available on the website, alongside a list of desirable characteristics which include “a passion for mobile development inside and outside of the office” and “solid communication skills”.

Recruiters at Hot or Not will first of all look at applicant's CVs before interviewing those that look good on paper to an interview, which will either take place at the company’s Soho office or via Skype. Beyond that, there is a meet the development team day where candidates will be required to impress one last time.

The developer that does decide to accept the offer will be expected to analyse specifications, design implementations and write tests and code.

In a bid to convince people to apply, Hot or Not points out that its offices boast desks lined with Macs and fridges full of food. There’s also a games room complete with a PS3 and a free gym membership on offer.

Applicants can apply by sending their CV to [email protected] by 31 January.
