EVault has announced a server that offers an archiving capability.
The EVault ArcWare is an archive server and policy-based engine that allows customers to archive their files, e-mails and instant messages for regulatory compliance.
ArcWare uses the same technology as EVault's InfoStage, a disk-based back-up and recovery product. ArcWare allows the archiving of older, less frequently accessed files. The company said that the web-based user interface offeredremote access and fast deployment.
EVault claimed the market for archived data is a quickly growing business. The company cited the Enterprise Strategy Group, who says that organisations will archive over 3,000 petabytes of files in 2006 growing to over 19,500 petabytes by 2010.
EVault ArcWare starts at US$3,000.
