Nearly every company has been looking into the possibility of virtualisation - it's been one of the most talked -about topic in the IT world over the past year.
Much of the debate has centred on server virtualisation with the emergence of Hyper-V challenging VMware's hegemony in this area but there's another side to it. Enterprises should be taking a broader view and looking at virtualising storage too.
If you're one of those people who have been looking at virtualisation and have been unsure how to proceed, our sister title, CIO UK, is running a web seminar on 19 February at 3.00 debating some of these issues. HP's Dave Barnes, is a leading authority on iSCSI SANsl and will be talking with analyst Tony Lock from Freeform Dynamics on the problems faced by companies moving to virtualise their storage and how to overcome them.
The webinar will also examine how Oxford University achieved efficiencies through virtualisation. It did this by combining two business units within the university to build a resilient infrastruct ure cost effectively .
The webinar can be found by logging into CIO and is open to all.
