Overland Storage has announced a tape library offering high-capacity archiving for small and mid-sized businesses.
The company has introduced the ARCvault 48, which supports 48 LTO-3 tape cartridges for a maximum capacity of 38TB of data. It is housed in a 4U- or 7.5-inch-high enclosure, which can be rack-mounted.
The ARCvault family of tape libraries and autoloaders also includes 12- and 24-tape models and works in either Fibre Channel or SCSI configurations and can be partitioned, thus appearing to the backup software as two libraries.
The library also has a touchscreen front panel for installation and configuration, and a remote management interface. It supports bar-code management, and all magazines are removable.
