RocketStream said it has developed a Mac version of its eponymous file transfer acceleration software. The company plans to release it closer to the end of the year.
RocketStream said that the software enabled users to transfer files over TCP/IP networks much faster than FTP, or File Transfer Protocol. The company sees a strong market for the technology in digital content creation and other environments where exceptionally large files need to be transferred over networks or the Internet.
RocketStream is targeting Macs running Mac OS X v10.4.10 or later with the new release. The release will also support users of various flavours of Windows, including XP and Vista.
