Philippe Starck, world famous designer, has designed two new hard drives for LaCie.
The LaCie Starck Desktop Hard Drive and the LaCie Starck Mobile Hard Drive both feature Starck's signature design features throughout each component of the design.
The collaboration comes 15 years after Starck first teamed with LaCie, which resulted in the award-winning 'Toaster' hard drives.
"The new Starck products showcase this amalgamation perfectly with LaCie’s constant innovation and Starck, who is the ultimate designer."
The drives, which come with USB 2.0 interfaces, are made from aluminium, which LaCie and Starck believe ensure your data is well protected from knocks and prangs.
BBC 2 are currently showing 'Design for Life,' a reality show of sorts, which sees 12 aspiring design students compete to gain a six month placement with Starck's Paris based company. The show offers an unique insight into Starck's creative thought process and his clear frustrations when students fail to follow a design brief.
The LaCie Starck Desktop Hard Drive is available in 1TB and 2TB sizes, while the LaCie Starck Mobile Drive is available in 320GB and 500GB sizes. Prices start at £109.90 for the Desktop and £84.90 for the Mobile model. Prices include VAT.
