O2 has revealed the Palm Pre will be available to UK customers from October 16.
The long-awaited Pre, which runs Palm's WebOS software, has been available in the US since June, but has only just been given a UK release date.
The handset will be available for free to those customers taking out either a 24 or 82 month contract, and will cost £44.05 or £73.41 per month respectively.
These contracts offer either 1,200 or 3,000 minutes of calls, 500 text message and unlimited Wi-Fi, through The Cloud and BT Openzone hotspots, as well as unlimited data usage.
The Palm Pre will also be available to those customers on the 18 month contracts that cost £29.38 and £34.26, although there will be a charge of £96.89 for the handset.
"There's a lot of excitement about Palm Pre in Europe as we continue to expand Palm webOS products across new carriers and countries," said Jon Rubinstein chairman and chief executive officer, Palm.
"We look forward to launching Palm Pre with O2 so people in the UK can see firsthand how Palm webOS offers a new and better smartphone experience."
O2 is also offering optional extras including the Palm Touchstone Charging Dock which allows connectionless charging of the handset. The Palm Touchstone Charging Dock and Back Cover will cost £44.11.
