Microsoft is to collaborate with Vodafone to provide a push e-mail service in Europe. The service will be based on Microsoft's Windows Mobile 5.0 and incorporate the software company's Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP), which includes the Direct Push technology and enhanced security features, Microsoft said.
In March, Vodafone will begin offering a range of devices running Windows Mobile 5.0 with Direct Push technology to small and medium-size businesses in France, Germany and the UK, and include SMB customers in other markets during 2006. Customers will be able to synchronise direct with Microsoft Outlook.
The service will be based on Microsoft Solution for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration version 3.5.
