LANDesk Software has launched its first products for business process management since acquiring BPM vendor NewRoad Software earlier this year.
LANDesk is positioning the software as a low-cost alternative to sophisticated BPM products from other vendors. Called LANDesk Process Manager 2.0, it's available now from channel partners priced from US$35,000 for companies with fewer than 1,000 employees, up to $190,000 for those with more than 10,000 employees, LANDesk said.
It marks LANDesk's entry to the BPM field, where vendors provide tools for modelling business processes and then linking applications together to automate those processes. LANDesk acquired the assets of NewRoad Software, which sold its products under the Autobahn brand, in January for an undisclosed sum.
Process Manager 2.0 includes a workflow engine for running business processes and web services interfaces for linking to enterprise and custom applications. It also sports graphical tools for modelling and configuring workflows, and for doing auditing and reports.
LANDesk said it had integrated the BPM software with its configuration and security management suites, so it can be used to automate processes within those products. It will be sold with the LANDesk suites as well as on a standalone basis.
The price includes some initial services to help "jump start" customers. The product was developed for companies ranging in size from 500 to 5,000 employees, although it's also suitable for bigger organisations, LANDesk said.
