EMC aims to make it easier for businesses to search unstructured information from multiple sources in multiple languages with a new software tool.
Several of EMC's customers are already using the software, EMC Documentum Enterprise Content Integration (ECI) Services, in fields such as pharmaceutical development or monitoring of regulatory affairs, the company said.
ECI Services can be used on its own, with the company's Documentum Enterprise Content Management platform, or with other vendors' content management systems, claimed EMC.
The software incorporates the askOnce technology EMC acquired from Xerox in March.
EMC representatives contacted for information about pricing and localized versions were not immediately available for comment.
