Apple will open its newest retail store in London's historic Covent Garden on Saturday,  7 August at 10 a.m. Those who arrive early should receive a free Apple t-shirt, with a chance to explore 56 Macs, 30 iPads, 40 iPods and 30 iPhones on display.

According to the company, the Apple Store Covent Garden is Apple’s largest store in the world, featuring unique rooms dedicated to Macs, iPads, iPhones and iPods for customers to experience hands-on.

"The first level of the store is entirely dedicated to innovative services that have become the hallmark of every Apple retail store, including the Genius Bar for free technical support and personal training through Apple's popular One to One programme," Apple notes in a press release.

"The store's central courtyard will host free workshops and presentations every day beneath a breathtaking skylight, and a new Start Up Room helps get customers up and running with their new Mac, iPad, iPhone or iPod touch before they leave the store."

The Community Room offers Pro Labs for in-depth training on Apple’s industry-leading pro applications including Final Cut Pro, as well as other free workshops and youth programmes.

Apple is employing 300 staff to help run the new store, which is happens to be Apple's 300th retail store.


For the first time local companies will be able to make appointments in the Briefing Room for free business workshops or to get help finding the right Mac and related products to meet their business needs.

"Our store on Regent Street is one of the most popular and successful Apple stores in the world, and we think the people of London will love the new Apple Store Covent Garden just as much."

The Apple Store, Covent Garden is at  No. 1-7 The Piazza  London,  WC2E 8HA  . Opening hours, apart from Saturday 7 August, when the store opens at 10am, are Monday - Friday  9am - 9pm and Sunday noon - 6pm.
