St Andrew's Church in Bo'ness, West Lothian, Scotland is offering a chance for Apple iPhone and iPad owners to watch the latest services live. The Rev Albert Bogle has teamed with congregation member Neil MacLennan to screen its services in real time.
"We tried the technology last weekend and I was able to sit in my car on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh and watch the morning service live," MacLennan told The Herald. "Essentially you could watch the service anywhere which had a 3G network. What we have developed is not some big secret to be kept in Bo'ness. We want other churches to try this and we'll be happy to help them on their way."
St. Andrew's Parish Church services begin each Sunday at 10.30 am and 6.30 pm, with replays available online from Monday. The church also broadcasts services online using Adobe's Flash, with support for BlackBerry and Nokia phones to follow. Additionally, a series of podcasts, or Godcasts, are available via iTunes.
