Which have been the outstanding IT projects this year? With the tightening of the purse strings, organisations have been looking to maximise investment in technology and ensure that they're really deriving benefits. We've now opened nominations for the 2009 Techworld Awards - slightly later in the year than usual.
The Techworld Awards, now in the sixth year, reward the leading project managers in a variety of topics including security, green IT, mobility and open source. We're also looking to reward the best CIOs and the hardest-working IT team. Candidates can self-nominate or can be suggested by third parties.
There are also awards for the best products in a variety of categories: archiving, cloud, desktop, green IT, infrastructure, mobility, network management, security, server, storage and virtualisation. Again, these can be nominated by the vendors themselves or by users. All awards will be judged by a panel of industry luminaries.
This year, there is no gala dinner but winners will be invited to a winners' celebratory party. In a new innovation this year, one of the judges will record a video clip explaining why each of the winners was selected.
