Archos has launched its 101 XS tablet with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The 10-inch tablet also comes with a magnetic Coverboard, while Archos said that the device will be released next month and will cost £299.
Company CEO Henri Crohas said: "As the pioneer in the Android tablet market, we strive to continually push the technological boundaries of tablets and user experience.
"We are taking our tablets to the next level by releasing an entirely new design that will redefine thin, while providing more functionality and a better price than any current Android tablet in the market."
Key specifications include a 1.5GHz multi-core processor, 10.1in (1280 x 800) screen, 16GB internal storage and a Mini HDMI port. The magnetic Coverboard acts as a cover, stand, and keyboard dock in one meaning it will rival the Asus Transformer range of tablets.
The 101 XS is just 8mm thin and the Coverboard adds a further 5mm. Archos has promised an update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean before the end of the year. Accessories will include a speaker dock, docking station and carry pouches.
