A caravan park company that demonstrated major cost savings through the use of satellite technology was voted the best network project for last year.
The IT team at the company, which demonstrated considerable cost savings thanks to an imaginatively redesigned network, carried off the award at the inaugural IDG network awards.
Other major awards were won by TRL, who walked off with the best network team of the year and Guy Adams from Parallel who was named Network Professional of the year.
The winner of the service provider of the year - a particularly hard-fought category - was won by virtual network operator Vanco.
Among the product award winners, there were wins for several of Techworld Recommended products, including NetBotz's WallBotz 500, which won the most innovative use of technology award, the Qualys' QualysGuard , which won the network protection service of the year, and the Chapparal Rio which snapped up the best storage hardware product.
They're only a year old but we're already ready for change. Techworld publisher, Guy Eaton announced that, from next year, the awards will be known as the Techworld network awards.
