Searching for a vacation apartment or villa can be a laborious process. You can scour apps from Airbnb and HomeAway, which provide a huge variety of options. But this in itself can be an issue. What if you want to be sure of the quality of the place you’re visiting: are the photos up to date, is the places clean, or you just want something that is really luxurious.
Enter One Fine Stay, who provide discerning travellers with a unique way of exploring locations. They provide a very curated list of homes, which means there is a lot less homes and they are growing a more carefully into new cities, but what you get are really astonishing and high-end homes with a tonne of character.
One Fine Stay’s app then is perfect for assisting in the entire journey, from searching and booking your place to anything you may need when you are staying at your ‘one fine stay’. Open up the app and click ‘planning a stay?’ and you get a display of all the properties they have available.
You can then filter the search more by providing exact location if you want, arrival and departure date, amount of guests, bedroom and in which currency you’d like to pay There Is a range of currencies available outside of the big three, including the Brazilian Real, Indian Rupee and the Australian and Canadian Dollar.
It is then easy to select the home of your choosing and to proceed on to booking the property, most of the properties have a ‘book now’ option which means if it is available you can book it immediately, and there are no questions asked. One big issue is that One Fine Stay requires a $1,000 deposit, regardless of the size or cost of your booking. Steep for many, but then again the vacation rentals are usually more expensive.
The app also enables you to manage your stay when you’re actually in the place, it provides around the clock support for you while at the property, you can ask questions, or get more information about the area you’re staying in for something to do outside the property you’re staying in.
Finally, another useful tip, is that the app provides information unique for each property on how to operate various hardware while there such as ovens, air condition units and so on, this is a huge plus as if like us, you’ve ever stayed in a vacation rental, you find yourself wondering how certain things work and depending on the level of detail left by your host you can then do it or spend hours figuring out how to boil an egg for yourself.
The concept of One Fine Stay is great, while expensive for many, sometimes we want to live in luxury for a few days. The app is very rudimentary though and could do with an update.
