An Android engineer from Google got a few helping hands in London, from a giant screen and a massive audience of developers.
Google's developers are provided with large screens to make them more productive, said Dave Burke - so the massive screen of the IMAX cinema should make him code really fast. Sure enough, he produced a well-practiced simple demo application in under eight minutes, an improvement over his previous personal best.

He did have help from an audience of hundreds of keen mobile developers though. Members shouted out "You're missing an 'l'!" and prompted him to add hyphens to his code.
Although the assistance helped him beat his time, the charm of the collaborative effort seemed to wear off a little: "That's back-seat coding!" he said.
