Fw Monitor - A Troubleshooting Tool

Fw monitor is a useful packet capture tool provided by Check Point as a part of VPN-1/FireWall-1. It allows a network troubleshooter to capture packets as they pass through the VPN-1/FireWall-1 Enforcement Module. In order to use the tool, however, the prospective network troubleshooter must first understand the fundamentals of computer networking. We discuss the basics of using the fw monitor utility, including some common optional parameters, which can be very useful. Finally, we end with a series of examples illustrated network troubleshooting.
