The Corsair Flash Voyager GT is a stylish, tough USB 2.0 flash memory drive.

Available in 8GB or 16GB, (we tested the 16GB version), the Corsair Flash Voyager GT is backwards compatible with USB 1.1. It features a rubberised casing with a masculine red and black design.

According to Corsair, the rubberised casing is rugged and even boasts water-resistant properties. We particularly liked the blue flashing light that indicated we were writing to or from the Corsair Flash Voyager GT.

The plug-and-play Corsair Flash Voyager GT is compatible with Windows Vista, XP, 2000, ME, Linux 2.4 and later, Mac OS 9, X and later and comes bundled with the True Crypt security application, which ensures virtual encryption of important data using AES-256 technology.

In our Check Flash scores, the 16GB Corsair Flash Voyager GT that we tested managed an average read speed of 20.49MB per second (MBps) and an average write speed of 22.48MBps.

The Corsair Flash Voyager GT also comes bundled with a neck strap, USB cable and limited 10-year warranty.

OUR VERDICT

The Corsair Flash Voyager GT is a great USB flash memory drive if you’re prone to extreme conditions, or a just rather clumsy.
