Derided by some Linux purists but unarguably successful, Ubuntu has come to be seen an accessible way to experience Linux and the one distribution that has seemed determined to push the boundaries of Linux to as many end-user devices as possible. Ubuntu is also very easy to get hold of on a range of hardware with enterprise-level support – the total currently stands at 90 desktop systems and 143 laptops.  Availability of Ubuntu phones is limited in the US for now.
