As the great sci-fi novelist Robert A. Heinlein once said, "One man's theology is another man's belly laugh." It is this spirit that inspires many of the artists of the House of Linux (and by extension, the House of Open Source). They poke fun at others and each other. Here is a selection of some of my favorite examples of humorous Linux wallpaper, posters and other illustrations.
You don't need to trust the source when you can see it, but may it be with you anyway.
3. The freedom fighters
The Linux Lass is a superheroine of open source. But, did it ever occur to you that when it comes to open source, she's on the same side as the communist dude? (Another great punch line for that dude could be "Get ready to volunteer!")
4. Who Gnu?
Imagine a Pixar Animation Studios film about the Linux revolution. Here's the poster.
If the open source revolution were to inspire a Quentin Tarantino film, it would look something like this.
"You know the difference between you and me? I make this look good."
Who is more dedicated to their technology platform of choice, Apple fans or Linux fans? Hard to tell, but the Linux fans have a message for Apple, "Bite me".
Linux has a reputation for being fickle and difficult to use for the non-geek. Pshaw.
9. Breathe, its Slackware
We'll leave it to you to decide why (or what?) the Slackware dude is exhaling (or is he merely whistling?). What is it about him that looks so Maynard G. Krebs?
10. Flocking to Linux
Who's the black sheep of the Linux desktop, KDE or Gnome?
11. A hairy situation
What do you get when you mix a puppy with a penguin? A pupguin.
