EE's network equipment testing centre, situated just north of London, was opened to the media earlier this month as the mobile operator announced it was launching its new voice over Wi-Fi service.

The centre, based in Borehamwood, is used to develop and test technologies, such as 4G and voice over Wi-Fi, before rolling them out to the public. The site is also relied upon by a multitude of partners in the telecoms sector, including handset manufacturers and software developers.

It is split across two floors with one focused on testing EE's networking equipment, and the other for EE's IT infrastructure.
