Chinese electronics dealers look to cash in by selling refurbished iPhones at Shenzhen market


Shenzhen is famous for manufacturing shiny new Apple products at its enormous Foxconn plant.

Less well-known are its huge wholesale electronics markets, which do a roaring trade in old iPhones.

Hundreds of buyers come to the Chinese city to purchase old phones, refurbish them and then sell them. It is a small part of China’s ‘grey’ market catering to the millions of Chinese consumers who want an iPhone but can’t afford a new one.
