Chinese president Hu Jintao is planning to visit Microsoft's Washington headquarters during his upcoming state visit to the United States.
Hu is expected to visit the software giant's main site on 5 September, according to Lu Shouqun, president of the China Open Source Software Promotion Union and a long-time advisor to the Chinese government on technology matters.
During his visit, Hu is expected to be given a tour of a prototype "digital home" developed by Microsoft and will visit Bill Gates' house, Lu said.
Hu's visit to the US is part of a three-nation tour over September that will include Canada and Mexico. Hu will also attend the 60th anniversary celebrations at the United Nations during his trip.
