Apple has released Mac OS X 10.4.11, which will probably be the final major update for the Tiger version of the operating system.
The update includes many improvements and fixes, notably the final version of Safari 3.0, the web browser that has been in beta for several months.
Other changes include RAW image decoding support for the following cameras: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50, Leica V-Lux 1, Olympus E-400, Olympus EVOLT E410, Olympus EVOLT E510 and the Canon EOS 40D.
The update also improves compatibility when using OpenType fonts in QuarkExpress.
For virtualisation users, the new OS improves reliability when running VMWare's Fusion software.
iPhone support has been updated, with improved support for using Image Capture to import pictures from iPhones and syncronising between iPhone and Yahoo address books.
Several changes were made to networking components and other smaller items like Daylight Saving Time for specific areas.
Mac OS X 10.4.11 can be downloaded from Apple's website or via the software update mechanism in Mac OS X.
