Steve Jobs has cancelled his usual keynote speech at the company's Paris exposition. There will be no keynote at all, the company has confirmed, but instead a question-and-answer session with Apple execs.

Oddly, Jobs will attend the conference however. "Yes, Steve will be at Apple Expo with other members of Apple's executive team," said a company spokesman. Last year, Jobs missed Paris Expo after surgery for pancreatic cancer surgery, leaving his number two Phil Schiller to launch the iMac G5.

The conference will come just days after Apple's expected first iTunes phones and the company is expected to announce a wider rejig of its whole iPod line.

Apple Expo Paris will starts Tuesday 20 September.
