OnLive launched the WiFi beta to all members this week, and made its software development kit available to independent developers. The new software enables users of the streaming games service to tap into an available wireless connection. It features mechanisms to handle interference, network congestion and dropped connections as well. OnLive wireless works best over a 3Mbps connection.
OnLive also announced that independent developers have access to the OnLive SDK upon request. The SDK lets developers stream their games on PC, Mac and TV through the service. Developers interested in getting the OnLive SDK should email firstname.lastname@example.org. On a related note, OnLive is hosting "Indie Fest," a three-day sale beginning today through September 19. All indie games get a 75 percent discount.
