Mobile operator 3 has revealed it is offering the new HTC Hero smartphone with access to swedish music-streaming service Spotify for £35 per month.

From November, the HTC Hero will be the first Android handset to launch on 3, promising a highly responsive touch screen, internet access and 5Mp camera.

Spotify Mobile will initially be available only on the HTC Hero. £35 a month over 24 months and an upfront fee of £99 gets you unlimited Spotify Premium for mobile and PC, 750 minutes to other mobiles, unlimited texts, unlimited 3 to 3calls, unlimited email, internet browsing and free Skype to Skype calls.

"This is a very exciting deal for Spotify. We're intent on offering people a high quality, simple yet powerful portable music experience at a fair price and we're thrilled to be working with 3 to bring Spotify to UK music fans," said Faisal Galaria, global head of business development at Spotify.

Spotify for iPhone and Android smartphones launched in September, with users paying £10 a month to listen to music both online and offline, with thousands of songs available in offline mode.
