As more enterprises look for a way to keep carbon emissions down, there's an increasing number of software companies are producing products designed to help keep organisations green.
The latest is CA's ecoSoftware 2.0 designed to help organisations manage sustainability programmes. The software supports a number of environmental initiatives, including the UK's CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).
EcoSoftware 2.0 offers users a reporting framework for the pre-population standard reports in one click, greatly reducing the time and effort typically associated with generating these reports. CA said that by automating the process, organisations could help provide the most updated and consistent environmental data.
CA said that the software also offered improved modeling capabilities to gauge the effect of various investments on environmental output.
"Organisations around the world are under increasing pressure to gain control over their energy consumption and waste - to cut costs, comply with regulations, and communicate their progress with stakeholders," said Sonny Masero, VP, ecoSoftware EMEA at CA Technologies. "CA is helping customers assess their effects, align sustainability programmes with their business goals, and automate this process to accelerate their sustainability efforts."
