Entrepreneurs will have a chance to grill successful start-ups for advice on how to develop their ideas and projects at a free event in London this weekend.
Starting tomorrow, (Friday 23 March), guest speakers and mentors will be at the Hackathon London event to dispense their guidance to interested developers, designers and start-ups.
Speakers include Mark Pearson, founder and chairman of Markco Media, the parent company of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, Nic Brisbourne, partner at global venture capital firm DFJ Esprit and Ross Williams, investor and founder of Global Personals, a network of more than 7,000 online dating and friendship websites.
Ross Berrisford, founder of group buying website Crowdity, which was sold last year to Wowcher, and Hugh Chappell, founder of trustedreviews.com, which was sold to Time Warner/IPC Media, will also be available at the event.
Job hunters may also have an opportunity to land a new job, as Markco Media will also be recruiting at the event.
As well as getting access to advice, start-ups will be able to use certain APIs for projects throughout the event. Organisations making their APIs available include social web influence company PeerIndex, online fan-to-fan ticket exchange website seatwave.com, cloud communications firm Twilio, real-time messaging service Pusher and voucher and deal network Markco Media and VouChaCha.
Free food and drink will be provided at the event, which will be held at The Clove Building, Butlers Wharf, near Tower Bridge.
