Getting around London can be tricky, but the London Bus app for iPhone aims to make things a little easier. Equipped with the latest London Buses maps, the app highlights all of the key bus route in central London and points you in the direction of tourist attractions.
Integration with Google Maps means that the app is able to provide directions to the nearest bus station and a bookmarking option is available to allow for easy access to your most frequently used stations and routes.
The app can also be used as a route planner. Type in your destination and London Bus will suggest the best route to take as well as an estimate of journey time. As the app already includes all of the information it needs, there is no need for a network connection to plan a journey - great for when you are in a coverage blackspot.
The geographical coverage offered by the app is somewhat limited - it really is just central London. The fact that additional points of interest are only available as in-app purchases is another sticking point, but the low price of the app means that it is worth checking out, particularly if London is unfamiliar territory.
The limited scope of the app means that it is only likely to be of real interest to tourists sticking to the centre of London - but what it does, it does well.
