PDF to JPEG Expert is a simple tool for converting PDF files to JPEG and a host of other image formats: PNG, PSD, TIFF, BMP and more.
Drag and drop your source files onto the program and it presents them in a list, detailing their name, date, file size, the number of pages, and so on. You're able to enter the password for a file, if necessary, ensuring that it can be converted properly. And if you don't want to convert every page, there's an option to specify a page range, instead ("10,20,35-40").
The right-hand panel has more options for you to consider: your preferred output format, image resolution, JPEG quality, image dimensions and output folder.
Once you've set up everything to suit your needs, clicking "Convert" gets the program started, and all you have to do is wait for the finished results.
We experienced some oddities with the program. In particular, conversions of files which were already just collections of images (scanned books) didn't seem to work correctly, with our output pages either being blank or very low quality.
PDF to JPEG Expert really needs a more effective progress display, too. Right now there's just a "Please wait" box and a moving bar, totally inadequate for an operation which could last many minutes. We'd like to see the file it's currently working on, and ideally the page, as well as an option to cancel the conversion process, if necessary.
Despite this, PDF to JPEG Expert handled simple conversions without any issues, and its wide range of output formats means the program could be worth a try.
Version 2.2 brings:
One Image for the whole Document
PDF to JPEG Expert couldn't handle all our test files, but simple PDFs were converted correctly, and there's a good range of output formats available.
