I bought an 8 Gig USB key and was about to implement the 'lockdown your PC when the key is unplugged' feature when I tilted my second home machine forward and bent the key back in the USB socket.

Backing away to pick up the pieces one of the wheels of my chair rolled over the 512 Meg key that I'd unplugged earlier.

Both keys still work - one in a mass of insulation tape and the other at an odd angle and diminished 'slider' ability.

Sometimes you have to step back from new technology and wonder how wise it is to implement.
