We launched Techworld eight years ago in a time of great change in the IT industry, virtualisation was coming to the fore and cloud computing (although it wasn't called that) was just beginning to get some attention.

What was exercising a few people in the industry was the depletion of IPv4 addresses and the onset of IPv6. I say " a few" because it was the still the case that many observers thought that this was not going to be an issue and that the likes of network address translation would solve many of the problems.
