Amazon has released a voice-controlled personal assistant called Alexa, which has been described as a rival to Apple’s Siri, Microsoft’s Cortana or Google Now. Previously only available on an Amazon device called ‘Echo’, the feature has now been incorporated into the Kindle so you never need to turn own page again!

With the summer now upon us, Pimm’s have created an OOH digital advertisement that searches for local pubs and beer gardens near your area that have available outside space. They’ve also incorporated weather data to help shape the messaging of the ad, which also only activates when the temperature reaches 16 degrees Celsius.

A recent report by comScore found that UK adults now spend more time with mobile devices than PCs, and that this holds true for internet usage in particular. Smartphones (41%) and tablets (15%) combined accounted for over half of internet time among users aged 2 and older at home and work locations, whilst desktops grabbed the remaining 44%.

A great move for the future of technology, the academy says the degree will boost the skills required by global technology companies and industries such as banking, aviation and retail.

A new app, named Mona, was unveiled this week, which is described as a ‘personal shopper’ app that makes product recommendations its mission. The app is based on data in shoppers’ inboxes and searches websites for items its user may like.
