A BBC story this week revealed that the general public is not very web-savvy, confusing terms like 'blogging' and 'dogging' (which could lead to some interesting websites) and expressing ignorance of words like 'podcasting'. The results weren't much better when people with web access were surveyed: nearly two-thirds of web users were not aware of the delights of blogging.

It's a stark reminder how we who spend our days surrounded by technology sometimes talk a different language to those who don't.

But even people who should know better seem somewhat confused by technology. The organisers of a new show called Message 05 sent an invite to Techworld telling us all about it. The show looks at how technologies such as e-mail, Instant messaging and mobile communications are being brought together... the invite was delivered by post.

Should have been grateful it wasn't carrier pigeon I suppose.
